Making meds more affordable

UnitedHealthcare’s Vital Medication Program* offers select prescription drugs at no additional cost. This means there may be no out-of-pocket cost, copay or deductible on select prescription drugs that may be essential to your health, including:

  • Insulin – rapid, short-and long-acting for diabetes
  • Epinephrine – allergic reaction
  • Glucagon – hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)
  • Naloxone – opioid overuse
  • Albuterol inhaler – asthma

These categories do not determine coverage for the medication for your condition. Your benefit plan determines how these medications may be covered for you. Convenient 24/7 Virtual Visits

With 24/7 Virtual Visits, you can connect to a provider by phone or video* – on myuhc.com or the UnitedHealthcare® app. Providers can diagnose and treat a wide range of health conditions, including many of the same conditions as an emergency room (ER) or urgent care. Providers may even prescribe medication**, if needed.

24/7 Virtual Visits is a service available with a Designated Virtual Network Provider via video, or audio-only where permitted under state law. Unless otherwise required, benefits are available only when services are delivered through a Designated Virtual Network Provider. 24/7 Virtual Visits are not intended to address emergency or life-threatening medical conditions and should not be used in those circumstances. Connect with an Advocate by phone or on the UnitedHealthcare® app to get the information you need, when you need it. Specially trained Advocates are here to help you understand your benefits, make more informed health care decisions and access the care that fits your needs.

Advocate4Me member support

Advocate4Me® should not be used for emergency or urgent care needs. In an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. The information provided through the program is for informational purposes only and provided as part of your health plan. Wellness nurses, coaches and other representatives cannot diagnose problems or recommend treatment and are not a substitute for your doctor’s care. Your health information is kept confidential in accordance with the law. The program is not an insurance program and may be discontinued at any time. Caring support throughout your pregnancy

If you’re thinking about having a baby or have one on the way, maternity support provides information and resources on everything from pregnancy planning to postpartum care.

Designed for all parents, no matter what the pregnancy journey looks like, maternity support includes 24/7 access to online courses covering:

  • Trimester benchmarks
  • Nutrition and exercise during pregnancy
  • Breastfeeding
  • Postpartum care

Maternity support

Employers are responsible for ensuring that any wellness programs they offer to their employees comply with applicable state and/or federal law, including, but not limited to, GINA, ADA and HIPAA wellness regulations, which in many circumstances contain maximum incentive threshold limits for all wellness programs combined that are generally limited to 30 percent of the cost of self-only coverage of the lowest-cost plan, as well as obligations for employers to provide certain notices to their employees. Employers should discuss these issues with their own legal counsel.

Keeping care on track

Preventive care - such as routine annual checkups and certain recommended screenings and immunizations - is covered by most UnitedHealthcare plans for $0 out-of-pocket when you see network providers. A preventive care visit may be a good time to help establish your relationship with your primary care provider. It can also help you manage your health and create a connection for future medical services.

Preventive care

Certain preventive care items and services, including immunizations, are provided as specified by applicable law, including the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), with no cost-sharing to you. These services may be based on your age and other health factors. Other routine services may be covered under your plan, and some plans may require copayments, coinsurance or deductibles for these benefits. Always review your benefit plan documents to determine your specific coverage details.​

Help for quitting tobacco

With a coach on your side, it may be easier to leave tobacco behind. The Quit For Life® program includes access to a Quit Coach®, a mobile app and more to help you customize a quit plan and go tobacco-free.

Quit for Life

The Quit For Life Program provides information regarding tobacco cessation methods and related well-being support. Any health information provided by you is kept confidential in accordance with the law. The Quit For Life Program does not provide clinical treatment or medical services and should not be considered a substitute for your doctor’s care. Please discuss with your doctor how the information provided is right for you. Participation in this program is voluntary. If you have specific health care needs or questions, consult an appropriate health care professional. This service should not be used for emergency or urgent care needs. Healthier habits, healthier lifestyle

Real Appeal® is a proven weight management program designed to help you get healthier and stay healthier. Available to you and eligible family members at no additional cost as part of your benefits, Real Appeal includes:  

  • Guidance from an online coach who leads group sessions and provides support tailored to your unique lifestyle 
  • Set achievable nutrition, exercise and weight management goals that keep you motivated to create lasting change. Track your progress from your daily dashboard, too 
  • After attending your first live group session, you will receive a Success Kit with tools and resources like weight and food scales, a portion plate, and access to online fitness classes.  

Real Appeal

Real Appeal is a voluntary weight management program that is offered to eligible members at no additional cost as part of their benefit plan. Within days by video or phone, you’ll be connected with a doctor who will provide personalized information to help you understand your options.
